NOTICE: MANDATORY WASTE SEGREGATION RULES (SWM 2026)

Date: Insert Date
To: All Residents / Tenants / Staff
Effective From: April 1, 2026

Subject: STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF 4-WAY SEGREGATION

Dear Residents,

As per the new Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 issued by the Government of India, our society is now legally classified as a Bulk Waste Generator. To avoid heavy penalties and ensure our waste is collected, we must implement 4-Way Segregation immediately.

Effective April 1, 2026, unsegregated waste will NOT be collected from your doorstep.

THE 4 MANDATORY BINS:
🟢 Green (Wet): Kitchen waste, food scraps, flowers. (NO PLASTIC BAGS)
🔵 Blue (Dry): Rinse & Dry plastic, paper, metal, glass.
🟡 Yellow (Sanitary): Diapers, pads, bandages. (Must be wrapped in paper)
🔴 Red/Black (Hazardous): Paints, bulbs, batteries, broken glass.

PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE:
1st Offense: Warning
2nd Offense: ₹500 Fine (added to maintenance bill)
3rd Offense: Waste collection service suspended for 3 days.

Why is this strict?
The Municipal Corporation has authorized fines of up to ₹20,000 on the Society for handing over mixed waste. We cannot burden compliant residents with fines caused by a few non-compliant households.

We request your full cooperation in keeping our community clean and compliant.

By Order of the Management Committee
